🌿 What to Expect

Welcome to Your Floral Design Experience

Choosing to return to school — especially for a new discipline — is a meaningful decision. At the David-Curtis School of Floral Design, we understand that it’s natural to feel both excited and a bit uncertain. You’re not alone — many of our students felt the same way before they began.

What unites every participant is a passion for flowers and a desire to grow. Throughout the program, you’ll find a supportive environment where students learn from expert instructors and one another.

🎓 An Intensive, Immersive Learning Format

Our three-week professional training program is thoughtfully structured to balance instruction, hands-on practice, and real-world application.

You will:

  • Learn foundational principles of floral design
  • Practice a variety of techniques with fresh flowers daily
  • Develop both traditional and contemporary design skills
  • Build confidence through guided projects and creative challenges

This immersive format ensures that every student graduates with the skills and experience needed to succeed in the floral profession.

📅 A Typical Daily Schedule

Each day of the program is organized to help you make the most of your time in class. While individual activities may vary, a typical day will include:

Morning:
• Demonstrations and lecture on design principles
• Discussion of technique and materials

Midday:
• Guided hands-on studio practice
• Individual design application

Afternoon:
• Independent design work
• Review and feedback with instructors

This format allows for a well-balanced combination of instruction and hands-on experience.

🤝 A Supportive Learning Environment

We maintain small class sizes so you receive personalized guidance from instructors and can learn collaboratively with your peers. Our focus is on practical skills, creativity, and professional standards that apply in real floral industry settings—whether in retail shops, special events, or studio environments.

From your first day through graduation, we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere where questions are encouraged and growth is expected.

💼 What You’ll Take With You

At the end of the program, you’ll have:

  • A professional portfolio of floral designs
  • Strong technical skills grounded in best practices
  • An understanding of floral handling, mechanics, and care
  • The ability to produce both traditional and modern arrangements
  • Confidence to pursue work or opportunities in the floral industry

Many of our graduates go on to work in retail floral shops, event design, or start their own creative floral businesses.
